Mission Statement

The leaves were not the only things changing Fall of 2004. That semester, Dr. Hal Miller proposed the creation of a journal focused solely on the undergraduate psychology program at Brigham Young University. Since then, many committed individuals have dedicated significant amounts of time and energy towards developing Intuition, the BYU Undergraduate Journal of Psychology. We, the journal staff, see Intuition as a remarkable conception and hope readers will share our sentiments.

This journal was designed to benefit undergraduate students of psychology. It is our hope that students may look to this journal for ideas and examples of well-written journal articles. Ideally, Intuition will become a key resource in improving students’ psychology research and writing skills, as well as highlight the undergraduate psychology research produced at Brigham Young University.

Intuition’s mission

In addition to standing behind the aims of Brigham Young University, Intuition focuses on four main goals:

1. To humbly engage students in active research and the proposal of theories.
2. To present students’ talents and efforts to others enrolled in this institution.
3. To inform others of BYU’s tremendous psychology program and the many theories explored within.
4. To share this social science in accordance with the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
